SONY	KV25XBR	No brightness after warm-up	After approx. 10 min warm-up pix would dim. g2 volts woulddrop approx. 80v while g1 volts would rise approx 80v indicating internalshort in crt.
SONY	KPR4620	Dark line in picture, replaced c-5079 (e board)	Black bar approx. 1/8 horiz. across center of screen. some-times would be 2 or 3 bars. troubleshooting 18v line it was noticed thathash appeared on 12v line after ic5005 12v ref. external supply hooked to12v and line and bar disappeared. further check

SONY	TCU270	P/n for 13 pin connector cord	Service manual doesn't have a p/n for the 13 pin ribbonconnector needed to connect the tc-u270 to the avu-270. -hq comments: the part number is in the tc-u270 s/m. the p/n is1-558-156-11. the description is limited to cord, connection.
SONY	KPR4620	No picture, replaced d-17, l-8 (e board), see sb #27	Picture is muted, hv is present and sleep light comes on thengoes off. l8 opens up, d17 defective.

SONY	XR70	Missing part number	The service manual does not give the part number for thecnp-901-902 cable and connector assembly for this unit. i have a unitthat needs these cables. -hq comments: these connectors are shown on page 25 of the s/m(ref. #16). the p/n is 1-555-525-00.

SONY	KV25XBR	Excessive high voltage	The unit was producing too much hv and going into shut down.we found the problem to be caused by a defective c1664 on the d board.this cap is supposed to be a 0.025uf, however, it had decreased to approx.0.016 which of course changed the tuning.

SONY	KV1542R	No color on channel 6, aligned l175	All functions appeared to work fine except that there was nocolor on ch. 6 when i looked at the unit. the tuner had already beenreplaced. found vc and bandswitch to be correct. resolved the problem bytweeking l175 in the local oscillator of the tuner.
SONY	TC850	Tape lifter mechanism intermittently activates in off mode	The tape lifter would intermittently engage when the circuitwas switched off. this of course prevented the tape from contacting thehead. we found the problem to be caused by a leaky q605 on the systemcontrol board. this was preventing the b+ reg. from
