SONY	XR70	Noise on the outputs in tape mode	Every xr-70 i have worked on has a motor noise in tape modethat is noticeable at low or no volume. -hq comments: head amp may be picking up motor noise as they are locatedclose to each other. try a shield around the motor.
SONY	TCFX1010	Communication with asp chip	Always in muted mode. tape plays, meters correct. in recordmode there is no control of level (rec) even though the attenuator reads-70db. ic710/703/704/309 replaced. all power supplies were within 0.3v.
