Program failure - resolder d305 in base. Missing 3,6,9 and # at dial mode pulse or tone. i tracedproblem at ic351 (dialer) and checked the input pin 29 (column), no signalin. i looked through ic201 (system control) pin 40, signal coming out.i found d305 had no solder.

Distorted audio (motor boating distortion) - replace q15. Humming sound or motor boating at dial tone. i checked b+supply at the base and found the dc voltage on q15 emitter to exceed 5.4v.it was approx. 6.7v dc. q15 transistor was leaky.

No ring/grabs a line - replace q7, p/n 8-729-216-22 Unit does not ring, but talk function is ok. when telephoneline is plugged in, unit seizes line. checked voltages on ic5, rl1 andq7. found q7 to be shorted, causing rl1 to stay closed.

Base didn't ring and speaker didn't produce audio. aftertracing the ring signal to pin 4 of ic604, i found there was no ringoutput at ic604/pins 5 and 8. checking ic604/pin #1, speaker mute, i foundit was high. following this back to the micro ic501/pin
