Over a short period of time the convergence of the picture gets steadily worse. eventually it is so bad that even the teletext shows double or triple images when they are made up of a combination of colours. pure colours: red, green or blue are ok. The tube must be replaced. apparantly this is a known problem to panasonic, especially on 32" tubes. it has been known to happen both in and out of warranty. so far panasonic when contacted have also paid for repairs when out of warranty 2 years old

When inserting tape, tape goes in, get a motor whirring noise, and tape ejects again with an "f02" or "f04" error. closer examination shows that tape seating correctly, but tape not being fed out to the head Cause was the motor powering the main mechanical feed/load and eject gear, underside of main front right of central chasis. small plastic part on motor spindle under gear had split, so slipping. secured part and gear to spindle with super glue! ok now!
