Buzz sound when cd function is selected - change d902 & d903 Units have buzzing noise present as soon as power is pluggedin with cd function selcted. turning volume up and down did not make adifference in the buzzing sound. this led to suspect a power supplyproblem. checked filter cap, and diodes d902 and d903.

Unit dead - replace motor m601 and fuse f901 Unit had no power

No spin cd - replace d301, p/n 8-719-109-97 Cd did not spin. checked r310 and q305. they were ok. found out that q305 was not switching on because of the absence of 6.8v at the base of q305. checked d301 and found it to be shorted.

Distorted audio r. speaker-check for short(ic303/pins12&13) Units have distorted audio right speaker only. checked audioon headphones, it was ok. while checking voltages and audio signal aroundic303 power amp, two pins 12 and 13 on ic303 were touching (shorted)together.

No opr/batt led and no audio - replace q307, p/n 872911978 Unit had power, but no audio and opr/batt (operation/battery)led will not turn on. checked voltage drop across d305 and no voltage wasfound. check q306 and q307: both were off. checked q307 and found that itsbase to collector junction was open. checked

Loose ac jack - use screw, p/n 3-384-192-01 to hold ac jack. Units have been found to have loose ac jack. the reason isthat the screw to hold the ac jack in place is too small. plugging in accord and removing it a few times causes the jack to slip out of thesupporting screw's hold, becoming loose. this is a

Inter play deck (a) (button pops up) - change take up reel When playing deck (a) play button pops up. some units pop up right away and other units take a minute or so. we have seen this problem in the past on other units, but on this unit we have seen a lot more of this problem.
