Drum or capstan servo instability A large number of the 5000 series betamax using the solidelectrolytic capacitors in servo circuits are having problem. the mostcommon failures are c007/c008/c010/c011/c016/c044/c050/c054/c063 on ss-9board.

Ac motor The ac motor became very noisy. replaced it with the onep/n 8-839-018-00. this ac motor was turning backwards. p/n 8-839-018-00is replaced by 8-839-018-10. p/n a-6737-079-a fixed the problem. thep/n from s/b no. 14 could also be used. -hq comments:

No aps delay between fw and play, breaks tapes When using aps, unit should go into reverse fw mode to stoptape, wait for a moment, then engage play. the delay did not occur, andunit went directly into play from fw, breaking tape.
