SONY	KV1311CR	No vertical, replaced ic-501	The unit would power up but there was no pix or sound. wefound the problem to be caused by ic-501. there was no vertical drive tothe vert. output ic. of course this did not permit the syscon ic tooperate correctly. replacement resolved the problem.
SONY	CDXA10	Unit tries to load two discs	The customer complained that the unit would periodically jam.we found that one disc (david sanburn/voyeur/warner bros 3546-2) made bypolygram in west germany was causing the problem.
SONY	STRVX550	Unit will not turn on	The unit would not power up. we found ic403/p8 - remotedecoder to be low. this is the reset pin. this was caused by an openc824 on the main board. excessive ripple at ic402/p1 & 2 did not permitthe reset circuit to operate properly.
SONY	TCFX1010	Unit will not power on	The unit would not power up. there were no key scan pulsesfrom ic703, although the clock was running, etc.
SONY	STRVX200	No functions	No functions were operative. we found a solder splash acrossthe 16v regulator - q803. this caused d803 to short and r804 to open.

SONY	STJX520	No fm - then no stereo or locked display	The unit came in with a broken tuner board. when the newboard was installed there was initially no fm. this was due to jumper 81missing. then the fm would not come in stereo or display the tuned sign.this was due to ift-202 being misaligned.
SONY	KV1965	Unit shuts down, replace c553	The unit would immediately shut down after the power switchwas engaged. walking the b plus line up on the variac revealed adefective c553. it was actually burned off and arcing on one end. thisof course would account for the shut down. it is interest

SONY	CDP203	Background noise	Unit had background noise that could be heard during quietpassages of music. unit otherwise performed normally.
SONY	CCDV8AFU	No video in camera mode	In camera mode no video. looked like no luminance sig, onlycolor. on me-1 board had signal on tp703 and tp706, but on the outputof ic701 pins 9 and 6 nothing was present. flexing board would causeproblem to clear up.
SONY	CCDV8AFU	No camera video	No video sig. faint outline could be seen, but it was allcolor with no luminance info. found that i had signal to the input ic703of pin 22 4h and pin 16 4l-4h. found no signal at pin 18 which isthe input to 0.18 usec delay. also found this pin at 0v.
