Defective keypad - resolder connector cn101 Keypad will not register #, 0 or * out to the phone line.found an open between cn101/pin 29 and cn102. resoldering cn101 fixesthis problem.

Vox dtmf test - replace ic504, p/n 8-759-996-43 No telephone line signal detection on dtmf display. there wasa signal coming in ic302/pin 11 to ic504/pin 2(input). there was no signalon ic504/pin 1 (output). ic504 was defective.

Defective ram test - reseat connector cn102 No response when pressing keyboard dial buttons. i cleanedkeyboard and resoldered ic701. still the same problem. i found cn102connector was cold soldered.

Defective bell detect - remove solder splash at mj301 No ring and no connect, seized a line. q301 checked o.k.i found mj301 jack had a solder splash underneath the connector, pinsshorted together.

Icm timing failure - replace c539, p/n 1-163-809-11 Calling in for incoming message, took only 10 seconds max. isuspected problem in the vox detect chip ic506. no signal was going intoic506/pin 1 output, but ouput ic504/pin 1 signal was getting thru, ifound c539 capacitor chip broken.

Ogm line distorted - remove solder bridge at ic301 Distorted audio at on hook and handset dial tone. i hadtraced the problem into ic301, but the ic is working correctly. i hadvisually inspected and found ic301/pin 8 and 7 shorted together.
